All Time Best Seller Re-Appears at In Due Time
February 11th, 2008 . by adminWhen you tear down buildings to use the wood, you end up with a great many windows and doors! This piece is called a Corner Door and, of course, it is made of a solid old door.
We haven’t had one in the shop for a couple of years now, but Don has made up about 6 of them. 3 are in the shop in this painted Farmhouse White color. The other that we have in our shop is a nice, natural wood door.
All of the features, various brackets, top knots and trim, all came from old furniture. Don Hancock leaves the door knobs and hinges on to add to it’s character! Come look at our downtown Moultrie showroom at 118 S. Main St, right off the courthouse square in historic downtown Moultrie!

I believe that one either loves Hummells or doesn’t get it. To me these are perfectly dear. We have several of these Goebel figurines at In Due Time right now. Some have nice old marks. Goebel was nice enough to change it’s marks regularly and the year each was produced is carefully documented. This little guy is holding his lamb — and wearing his daddy’s slippers!
New Items at In Due Time
January 28th, 2008 . by admin
This is a WOW of a find! A great LANCE cabinet with all it’s original glass. In a primitive bathroom, wouldn’t this make a fabulous medicine cabinet?!? How about your favorite antique kitchen implements on a nice farm kitchen wall. Red is just so — RED! Makes a great statement, doesn’t it?!?!
Another great new item is this baseball lamp by Don Hancock. On a piece of nice old heart pine, here is a vintage Mike Schmidt baseball bat. The knob has been cut off just to hold your glove! Great addition to a sport theme bedroom or den.
FROE….HUH
January 22nd, 2008 . by sherriWorking at In Due Time is a very fun job. I learn something new every day. The other day a man came in asking for a Froe. I said huh, that was a hairstyle that I wore in the 70’s. The man laughed at me and said it was a tool that was used for splitting roof shingles. Imagine my surprise and embarrisment. I learn something new everyday and it makes history come alive to me. Joanne is the greatest and knows so much about antiques. She amazes me with all of her knowledge of just about everything in the store. Come in for a treat and and sneak back in time.

Removing White Rings from Wood Furniture
January 1st, 2008 . by admin
At In Due Time we have found a product that works removing white heat rings, water or smoke damage. Howard’s Restor-A-Finish does the trick. Apply Restor-A-Finish with fine steel wool and rub hard enough with the grain to blend out the white effect, periodically checking your progress. If a high gloss finish should appear dull due to the use of steel wool, polish it out with Howard Burnishing Cream and/or Polishing Compound. Resor-A-Finish comes in a wide variety of wood colors and is available at In Due Time.
