First Friday this month is MEET THE ARTIST. We are so fortunate that Jeanie Merritt lives in Moultrie and that she graces our shop with her paintings. Every painting she has allowed us to sell is cheerful, colorful and full of the energy and love she puts into them!
On Friday, November 7th from 6pm until 8pm we will be hosting Meet The Artist, Jeanie Merritt. Come in to In Due Time and Now…I Have Everything and meet the woman who has done all the wonderful paintings you have purchased for the last few years. Jeanie will be there and has a special treat, while supplies last. Of course, we will have door prizes and refreshments , as usual.
I asked Jeanie to tell us a little more about herself. In her own words:
“I was born in Stuart, VA. in 1958, the oldest of 5 children. My entire life I have always thought of creativity as one of my best friends. Whether I was helping with my brothers and sisters, in daycare for 30 years, or 12 years in foster parenting, or in the raising of my three children or now with my two grandchildren, creativity always showed up in every aspect of my life.
When I was a child, all I needed was something to make or just a piece of freezer paper to draw on. If I had that, I would be just fine. Therefore, now I look forward and find happiness when I get the chance to paint a picture on something unique. It is truly a wonderful fulfillment for me to paint something that someone wants for their home. It is wonderful to know that my pieces of art help make someone else’s home look and feel more like a home.
My pledge and promise to everyone is, ‘if you allow me to decorate your home with my art, I will try my very best to never, ever paint you an Ugly Picture!’ “.

If you are looking at dishes or porcelains, etc. If the name “England” (or that of some other country) appears, the dish was probably made after 1891, but it may have been made as early as 1887. The words “made in England” (or some other country) indicate the piece was made after 1914.
As with any collectible evaluation, the more you read and learn about any subject, the better your own personal collection will be.

Everywhere I looked this up, it said RARE! It is an Eagle Pattern by Watt Ovenware and is listed as a cookie jar or, alternately, a canister. Come take a look at it at Downtown Moultrie, GA IN DUE TIME 118 S. Main Street. Just beautiful! Lines so simple and elegant.

Sherri and I went to look at a bunch of quilts today. Miss Willene of Ocilla, GA said she had some she was interested in selling. We took a look and agreed that we loved them, too! Oh, said she, I also have two older chenille bedspreads. Interested? A pretty pink and white one and a gorgeous blue and white one with flowers. I am loving these!

As you open the door to In Due Time, one of the first things you see is a primitive cupboard filled with Yellow Ware, Crockery and wonderful antique Corn Molds. This cabinet is filled with bowls, bottles, jugs, pitchers, and, of course, these wonderful corn molds! Blues, yellows, creams, browns, and the wonderful turquoise colors that you see. These beauties have looked great for 100 years!
