My computer and my camera are dead! Nevertheless, I wanted to make sure all of you knew about the amazing new product at the shop. The last time I took a while to get things on the website, the great jewelry by Geranium was almost gone, before I could get it to show you. This time, with no camera, I cannot show you, but go in and ask Jennifer to show you the WELSPRING items. No clues from me, just go take a look!! You will love these!!

Ya Hit TWO Homeruns, Don Hancock

December 30th, 2009 . by admin

Don brought two pieces of DreamWorks Furniture to the shop today and oh, my! Take a look at these!

The first one is so neat! The door, with it’s textured glass, was, in it’s former life was a transom window in a bathroom. The window was horizontal in it’s day. It had metal rods that locked it out and open, that pushed it out a foot or more. Don calls this Transom Window Cabinet. It’s shelves are adjustable. The great part is that there can never be another one of these. Not only do I doubt we will find another transom window, but what are the chances of finding one with all the panes in tact?! The second piece is a Porch Post Book Cupboard. The columns are solid heart pine porch supports. And the little top detail? It’s hand carved mahogany and it is a little antique in it’s own right. Come on in and take a look!

10 REASONS

October 5th, 2009 . by admin

Reasons Antique, Vintage, Old, Recycled…..

Number 1. Costs less, more value, really cheap if you are willing to do a little work!
2. Lots more interesting! Not stuff from the marts, not cookie cutter stuff from some chain furniture store. Unique and often, one of a kind. Look in every magazine. What is hot is what is different, creative.
3. Speaking of creative: this stuff is IT! Mix Victorian, shabby, industrial, painted and natural. Make is say YOU not “Mahogany”, or “Traditional” or any other style that can be summed up in one word!
4. If you go looking for REAL, real wood, real construction, real value, you will come to In Due Time.
5.Surround yourself with the PAST — reconnect with your memories, what your gramma loved, those wall pockets my aunt so-and-so had.
6. Antiques are the ULTIMATE recycle effort. The today word is GREEN.
7. SUPPORTS LOCAL BUSINESSES…. buy locally !! SUPPORT YOUR AREA BUSINESSES…. and get old good old american made things…. from back when that meant quality…!!!
8. Hunting down a treasure, a unique, a one-of-a kind is FUN!
9. There is VARIETY out there. Go hunting, find different, unique, odd, funny, funky, put it all together for a look that shouts INTERESTING!
10.Hey from Queen Elizabeth to Sanford and Son… become a collector and find the oddball and quaint and find that interested and interesting streak in you!
